are under greater danger than others, due to their small size – the gap between read-write head and surface is yet narrower than in other disks (see our IBM harddisk page) – and higher wear (e.g. working on moving grounds).
These harddisks fairly often encounter mechanic failures.
But just do not panic, if your harddisk is not working properly!
Under no circumstances should you try to get the disk or the whole notebook working by means of pushing, shaking or hitting it!
For notebook harddisks the same rules as for the others apply:
Do not start the disk again, but send it to us, your competent and professional data recovery service!
